PDF Tools That Never Upload Your Files

Pick a task and finish it with one button. Documents are processed on this device and never uploaded.

Why PDF tools that do not upload?

Most services you find when you search for a way to merge or split a PDF upload the document to their own server first. Yet the papers people exchange as PDFs are often the ones that should not leave the building: contracts, payslips, ID copies, internal reports. Many company security policies forbid such uploads altogether.

The tools on this site work differently. The code that handles PDFs is downloaded to your browser and runs on your own computer or phone. When you choose a file, the browser reads it on the spot and builds the result on the spot. File content does not travel over the internet, so there is no upload to wait for, and once the page is open the tools keep working even without a connection.

Good to know

Because the work happens on your device, speed and the largest file you can handle depend on that device. Ordinary documents finish in seconds, while scans of several hundred megabytes can be slow on a phone. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened, and bookmarks and fillable form fields are not carried into files that were merged or rearranged. Compression and text recognition (OCR) are not offered yet.

FAQ

Are files really not uploaded?

Yes. The code that handles PDFs is downloaded to your browser and runs on your device. The content of your files is not sent to any server.

Is it free? Is there a limit?

Everything is free, with no sign-up and no daily limit. Files are not processed on a server, so there is no cost to pass on, and the site is funded by ads.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in current Chrome, Safari and Samsung Internet. Very large files can be slow depending on phone memory.

Do password-protected PDFs work?

No. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened. Remove the password first.
